Students can demonstrate not only their mastery of facts, but also their ability to apply what they have learned to scenarios and simulations.

In addition to the wide array of assessment types offered, Virtuoso also provides several features that add flexibility to the way assessment items can be developed. These include: field testing of test items, mixed format test items, item randomization, item formatting options, and item front matter options. There is also a "Personalized Feedback" feature that allows students who have taken a pretest within CLI Virtuoso Delivery to choose from a list of the topics in which they had trouble demonstrating proficiency. Personalized Feedback provides students and teachers with broader learning resources that help increase proficiency in key areas.

Unlike many "e-reading" courses that are simply online textbooks, CLI Virtuoso Delivery is a dynamic e-learning environment that can create courses quickly and interactively according to the needs of individual learners. This is accomplished through the creation of metatagged course content, organized into reusable learning objects that are assembled quickly into customized content.
