CLI’s Mission
Cisco Learning Institute is a nonprofit public benefit corporation committed to partnerships and solutions for institutions to improve their ability to use technology. Initially funded by Cisco Systems, the Institute promotes the effective, appropriate use of technology to advance learning. CLI is committed to overcoming the issues of access, awareness and affordability in utilizing technology to demonstrate that it is an essential tool in 21st Century education and plays a key role in solving the larger problems that impact learning today.
Partnership Summary
A partnership with the Cisco Learning Institute has greatly assisted the Cisco Networking Academy Program to expand its scope in efforts such as the Gender Initiative. CLI's Gender Initiative was launched in April of 2001, in conjunction with Cisco Systems, Inc. The aim of the initiative is to recruit and retain women in the Cisco Networking Academy Program. The initiative is accomplished by partnering with Non-Governmental Organizations (NGOs), International Organizations and Governments who share a common goal of increasing women's opportunities for economic empowerment by providing them with access to education and training for 21st century workforce skills.
