The goal of most Networking Academies is improving the individual's economic status through employment or college admission. When the Networking Academy opens its doors, it has a blue print of how to get the participant from day one of training to day one of employment or college.

Empowerment Zones were created in 1994 under President Clinton to provide tax incentives, grants and loans to designated low-income areas. These areas experienced severe problems such as concentrated poverty, increasing crime, an exodus of jobs, declining schools, middle class flight and a deteriorating tax base.
