  1. Your institution must be academically accredited by a national or regional accreditation body that is endorsed by the US government, such as ACICS. More information on accreditation can be found on the accreditation home page for the Office of Post Secondary Education at http://www.ed.gov/offices/OPE/accreditation/index.html.

  2. Your institution must implement the program according to all quality requirements listed in the Quality Assurance Plan (QAP). A copy of this document can be electronically downloaded at http://prospect.netacad.net. You can obtain a temporary login ID to this site by contacting netacad-acc@cisco.com.

  3. Your institution will be subject to fees for program participation. Annual fees for program access are invoiced upon contract signing, and apply to each Academy location. Student fees are invoiced monthly once the curriculum is rolled out to students.

  4. Your institution will need to dedicate a person to serve as "Main Contact" for each Academy location. The main contact is responsible for initializing Local Academies, setting up classes for their Local Academy instructors, and updating Academy information on the web site. The main contact must respond to Program-related questions from the Academy and from Cisco in a timely manner.

  5. Every instructor must be certified by Cisco to teach any part of the Cisco curriculum before teaching trainers or students. Your institution will need to send instructors to a designated Regional Academy or Cisco Academy Training Center to become certified. Training for CCNA courses can take up to 22 days, and the training centers are geographically limited, meaning that most training sessions will require travel.

    *Does your institution have the time and the budget to cover training and travel costs for these instructors?

  6. Cisco requires an implementation plan for each Academy location which covers Instructor training dates, target date for roll out to students, the number of courses being taught, and the estimated enrollment.

    *Are you confident your Academy location/s will be ready to start teaching to students within 6 months of signing this contract?

  7. Your instructors will be required to create courses and enroll students in the Academy Management System. These records should be accurate and up-to-date, meaning that instructors should visit the web site on a regular and frequent basis.

    *Do your instructors have the administrative time (~1 to 2 hours/week) to dedicate for these purposes?

  8. The CCNA Academy curriculum (Semesters 1-4) cannot be taught in less than 6 months(70 hours per semester minimum).

    *Can you offer this program according to the length and period required by Cisco (as stated in the QAP)?

  9. An Academy must purchase Cisco lab equipment for the purpose of conducting lab exercises in the Cisco Networking Academy Program (A cost calculator is available on http://prospect.netacad.net)

    *Do you have the funds/budget available to purchase the necessary lab equipment to support the program?

  10. The Cisco Networking Academy curriculum can be offered in two formats: as a stand alone, 'extension' course, or integrated into a degree program along with other technology courses.

    *If you plan on integrating the Academy curriculum with your degree program/s, have you factored in the curriculum accreditation process that is required into your implementation time frame?

    *What is the period of time required for curriculum accreditation?

  11. A room must be provided of sufficient size for the number of academy students being taught.

    *Do you have the space available for class instruction and lab activities?

  12. There have been instances in the past where institutions have closed due to financial insolvency. This has negatively impacted our Academy students.
