This course is an introduction to Wireless LANs, focusing on the
design, planning, implementation, operation and troubleshooting of
Wireless LANs. Students must have taken CCNA1 and CCNA2 in order to
gain basic networking skills before taking Fundamentals of Wireless
LANs. This wireless curriculum is a comprehensive overview of
technologies, security and design best practices with particular
emphasis on hands on skills in the following areas:
Wireless LAN setup & troubleshooting
802.11a & 802.11b technologies, products & solutions
Site Surveys
Resilient WLAN design, installation & configuration
WLAN Security - 802.1x, EAP, LEAP, WEP, SSID
Vendor interoperability strategies
Upon successful completion of this course, students will receive
an official Cisco Networking Academy Certificate of Completion. This
course will prepare students to achieve the Cisco Qualified
Specialist Wireless LAN Support certification.
The Wireless LANs course will help prime students for career
opportunities such as a systems engineer, product support engineer,
and systems integrator. For higher education bound students, this
course will help ready them to enter an electrical engineering, a
computer science, or a management information systems degree
program.
