 Web Design

The Fundamentals of Web Design, Sponsored by Adobe Systems (U.S. only)

The focus of the web design course is on the overall production processes surrounding web site design with particular emphasis on design elements involving layout, navigation and interactivity. The final course project includes students in teams of four, designing a web site including creating a client proposal, developing a project plan, drawing a site design and overall production. Students are encouraged to design a web site for a non-profit community based organization in their area. Hands-on Web Design exercises will be taught using Adobe® Photoshop®, Adobe Illustrator®, and Adobe GoLive®.

This course will help prepare students for the World Organization of Webmasters Certified Web Design Associate (CWDSA) exam.

The Fundamentals of Web Design will also help prime students for career opportunities such as a programmer analyst, systems analyst, programmer, web site developer, and data modeling specialist. In addition, this curriculum provides IT skills to help students ready themselves to enter into a management information systems degree program.

This course is scheduled to be retired on July 1, 2006. The curriculum and assessments will be available until that time. Please see the Adobe Sponsorship Transition FAQs for further details on this curriculum retirement.
