Fundamentals of Network Security

This course is an introduction to Network Security and overall security processes. The CCNA curriculum (CCNA1 through CCNA4) is a prerequisite to enrolling in this highly technical curriculum. The emphasis for this course is on:

Security policy design & management
Security technologies, products & solutions
Firewall and secure router design, installation, configuration & maintenance
AAA implementation using routers and firewalls
VPN implementation using routers and firewalls

Upon successful completion of this course, students will receive an official Cisco Networking Academy Certificate of Completion and are prepared to take the Cisco Security certification exams: 640-100 MCNS (Managing Cisco Network Security) and 9E0-111 CSPFA (Cisco Secure PIX Firewall Advanced) exams. MCNS and CSPFA exams have a CCNAŽ certification as a prerequisite.

The Network Security course will help prime students for career opportunities such as a network security analyst, senior systems analyst and systems architect. For higher education bound students, this course will help ready them to enter an electrical engineering, a computer science, or a management information systems degree program.
